Watercolour mounted on cradled wood panel - 20” x 30”
On a cool fall day people pass in front of the a repurposed 100-year-old landmark building housing the Tap & Barrel restaurant. This building is on the site of a former shipyard located at the bottom of Lonsdale Ave in North Vancouver.
The yard opened as Wallace Shipyards in 1906, later operated as Burrard Dry Dock, Burrard-Yarrows, and finally as Versatile Pacific Shipyards before closing in the 1990s. Peak output came in World War II, when the yard made 109 of the 312 "Victory Ships" produced in Canada. The Tap & Barrel Shipyards location opened in 2015 in "a repurposed 100-year-old building" described on the restaurant's website as in the heart of the old shipyard. With 14,000 square feet, it is Western Canada's largest restaurant.
Our Art Rental collection is available for in person viewing. In person viewing, although not always possible for everyone, is the BEST way to see artwork you may be interested in. We invite you to come to the gallery to view our collection during regular hours. You can make an appointment to visit on Tuesday when the gallery is otherwise closed to the public.
The rental collection is displayed year-round in the Art Rental salon located in the back area of CityScape and is viewable ONLINE at Art Rental – North Van Arts.
