Taking many photos at a location is an ideal way to observe and capture everyday scenes and later understand multable details. and an implanted memory that assists during.

Photo images are placed into an editing program, this is where the design decisions are made with adjustments to the composition that enhances the scene. Many versions and options are made working on colours and images combined, these are adjusted until the elements are balanced and feel right. A print is made for reference to be used during painting.

My Painting Process

The image is transferred in line onto acid free professional quality watercolour paper. Then the painting process starts by light adding transparent watercolour washes. The painting develops slowly and comes to life by building up layers of watercolour. By adding stronger colours the image appears as starts to make more impact until the application of layers has the desired light and mood.
